Period
October 2018

Client
J.A. Jonker Schilder- en onderhoudsbedrijf

WHERE

At Het Nieuwe Instituut, a museum and State Archive in Rotterdam.

WORK ACTIVITIES

The 16 uprights and the associated cross-links of the building were rust-freed by our technicians and then preserved. Prior to this work we wrapped the glass facade with foil to prevent contamination and damage.
We carried out this assignment for J.A. Jonker, paint and maintenance company. We carried out the work in 17 days with a team of 5 technicians.

WHY ROPE ACCESS?

The gondola installation of the building was not sufficient to carry out the work. However, there was an extensive steel construction present, which was ideal for rigging our ropes. Some of the work had to be carried out above water, which made the use of scaffolding and aerial platforms impossible.
